How To Protect Your Chickens From Predators

It is essential to know how to protect your chickens from predators. Your chickens, baby chickens and their eggs are favourite foods for animals such as wolves, chickens, coyotes, foxes and dogs. Did you know that even owls eat them too.

Now it is time that you protect your beloved chickens and the best way to do that is by putting them into a chicken coop. In fact all of your chickens should have the right to be in a chicken coop. In such a coop they can produce their eggs undisturbed because they are protected from ferocious predators.

The first thing you need to do is to make sure that the chicken house is completely free of holes and gasps in it’s walls.

Another thing you need to do to protect your chickens from predators is that the fences go at least half a meter below ground level. If you have a rigid fence place foot pallets. These foot pallets will help to prevent that predators will dig right next to the fence.

Another way to protect your chickens from dangerous predators is to lay a foundation of cement bricks or cinder blocks around the perimeter of the henhouse.
